Posted by Kocsis-Kupper Zsuzsanna, Monday, 23rd April 2018 @ 8:27 am

The first EU macro-regional workshop on water was held in Budapest on 19 April on the initiative of EUSDR Water Quality Priority Area and with joint organization of Interact.

All four EU macro-regions were represented at the meeting. The workshop provided an opportunity to discuss water related issues in the Danube region, in the Baltic Sea region, in the Adriatic and Ionian region and in the Alpine region.  Experts came from 10 countries and from policy areas such as Hazards, Water Quality, Environmental Risks, Biodiversity, Environmental Quality and Resources. The participants obtained information about the updates on latest EU water and macro-regional information and about the first background study on comparing EU macro- regions on water by company Trenecon.

The participants could already identify some common areas of interest and works to share and agreed that it will be essential to continue dicussions on different topics in the future.

The minutes of the meeting will be shared soon. The presentations of the event are available here
